Poetry Is Here!

Poetry has officially been added to the website, which will serve as the home for all my work. All poetry here is written by me with the goal to upload all of it here and one day have my own book. It's good to have goals. 😊

When I first started Creative Meanderings I wanted to have my poetry up right away, but the task felt daunting and I wasn't ready to share myself like this despite wanting to be published someday. I chose to direct my attention to my Frog Friends and Workshops (great progress has been made here by the way!), which I am glad I did, because that has given me creative outlets and helped me grow. But now I feel a need to stretch out a bit, so to speak. Poetry can be vulnerable and sometimes intimate. It takes a certain bravery to put what is in your spirit to the page, let alone share it with another person. Fears of judgement or rejection have swirled in my head before but at this point I've more or less let them go. I'd rather be all of me than served in pieces.

I'm ready to share parts of me I didn't know existed until they spilled out of my pen. It's time for the thorns as much as the flowers. I usually write about what I am experiencing and feeling at the time. There will be some provocative pieces, as I don't shy away from tough subjects (I will include content warnings as needed). There are full arcs and one-and-dones. Longform and short. You will find the collection grows at a natural pace, albeit faster at first as I upload what I have already written. Expect more to happen around here.

I'm proud to be at this stage and thankful for your support. You all know who you are. 🖤 Now, please enjoy a quiet place for some poetry. "In the subtle and overt, I can only ever be myself.
