Village - ChildStrive
Bustling warriors coming together at different times, never wearing the same suit
Are you tired from all the steps and heavy lifting?
Next to and behind, playing the role of stroller or cane There is a certain harmony to it, the great buzzing of such a place with the same goal, and same vision
The seat next to me is never empty long enough to grow cold
Does it ever make you weary, having wings?
Your answer is simple and profound, genuine, caring Stepping through countless doors we inhale new life like oxygen
Soft coos and gentle kisses, screaming lungs and howling winds, the ride holds many seasons
My hands are held out for many reasons (too)
I am young, I am afraid, I am new; I am alive, I am with you, I am able
Fears of being too much so swiftly abated I have no more questions
I can now walk on my own, along side my little one who moves faster than time…
My mind is full of possibility and faces, thinking back to how this is reality
Now I listen to my daughter learning
She is taking in the whole world while being MY whole world
I see her intense focus as she navigates the hurdles I view as stepping stones and hear her laughter echoing in my ears
My heart is full, warm, and beating and I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude
Kind faces gently flip through my mind and I smile
It really does take a village, and I want to thank you all for being a part of mine
